John Perkins

March 18, 2022 By Admin Leave a Comment

John was born in Derby but went away to school in Eastbourne and Bedford before studying Geography at Oxford. He then went to teach in Nigeria in a mission school for 2 years before teaching for 15 years in Gloucestershire,11 years in secondary, and after a year’s retraining, 4 years in a primary school.

Along with his wife Hilary, John then moved to Newtown to take up the junior post at Sarn for 3 years before becoming the head for 11 years. In 2006 he was offered early retirement as the school was closed.

John was fortunate to have Christian parents who prayed for him, and he gave his life to God at the age of 8 after being challenged by his Uncle. John was appointed a deacon in 1998 and became the Church’s treasurer in 2003.

John and Hilary have 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren. John enjoys photography, gardening, walking, cycling, and kayaking.

⭐THIS SUNDAY!⭐ We're all seeking something to put our hope in. The Bible claims to offer genuine, certain hope- but how do we know we can trust the Bible?!🤔 Join us at 5:30pm on Sunday as Dr Andy Christofides helps us look at the reliability of the Bible. #HotPotatoEvening pic.twitter.com/Er74iW08jy

Remember, remember the 5th of November. Treason against the king- thankfully Guy Fawkes' plot was scuppered! 🔥🧨 The Bible says we're all guilty of treason against the King of kings! Praise God for Jesus who has taken the punishment that our treason deserves! ✝️ #bonfirenight🔥 pic.twitter.com/5DDN3qW7Pe
