Gareth originates from Ammanford, South Wales, although he and his wife, Lynne, lived in Chessington for around 40 years where they were actively involved at Hook Church.
Gareth came to know Jesus as his Saviour at a houseparty in Llandrindod Wells at the age of 19 (26th January 1973, the day before Gareth Edwards scored ‘that try’ for the Barbarians against the All Blacks!).
Gareth worked as a Maths teacher in the Borough of Kingston upon Thames, before retirement led them to relocate to the Newtown area of Mid Wales. Gareth and Lynne joined the church here in Newtown in 2015, with Gareth joining the eldership in October 2020.
They have a grown up son, Rob, who is married to Joely.
Gareth and Lynne are thoroughly enjoying putting retirement to good use with their campervan!
